About NSTS
Niagara Student Transportation Services (NSTS) is a consortium between the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) and the Niagara Catholic District School Board (Niagara Catholic). NSTS was established in 2007 and is incorporated as a not for profit organization.
NSTS reports to a Board of Directors comprised of senior officials from each school board. The Ministry of Education provides funding for student transportation services to school boards. The school boards work together to set an establish a harmonized transportation policy for eligibility and service levels in consideration of transportation-specific funding. NSTS implements the school board transportation policies and service levels and manages the school board approved budget for transportation.

NSTS is committed to student success by providing safe, effective and efficient transportation services to the learners of Niagara.
NSTS transports 35,000 students to and from school on over 544 school buses and 82 caravans/sedans daily. NSTS travels just over ten million kilometres each school year getting students to 163 schools and to 60 specialized education sites.
To achieve our mission, we:

Apply the harmonized student transportation policies of the school boards to determine eligibility for transportation service.

Implement policies, procedures, practices and contracts based on industry legislation, regulations and leading practices.

Utilize specialized student transportation management software, portals for consistent communication of transportation plans to all affected parties and deploy global positioning system (GPS) devices on 100% of service vehicles.

Collaborate with safety and community partners to provide school bus and active school travel safety videos and interactive programs for students at each elementary grade range.

Seek opportunities to continuously improve the safe, effective and efficient delivery of student transportation services.
